Trips to Italy can provide some of the most memorable experiences in a lifetime. You could explore the remains of Rome at Pompeii or in the capital itself. You could see the various influences on the island of Sicily. You could take a look at the historic floating city of Venice. Or perhaps the most popular Italy vacation packages include taking a trip to the center of the Renaissance.
If you are planning to take a trip to Florence, then you will presumably want to stay in a location that is close to all of the main attractions. This will likely be located close to the Arno River or within a short walking distance from the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (Florence’s Duomo) and the famous Uffizi Gallery. That’s why we’ve picked out some of the best hotels in the Florence city center, so you don’t have to.
There are a variety of different star hotels in Florence that are all located close to the main piazzas and structures of the city. So with all of that out of the way, let’s hop right into our list of the best hotels in the Florence city center!
Top Hotels In Florence City Center Close To All Main Landmarks
St. Regis Florence
Coming in first of our list of the top 5-star hotels in central Florence, we have the St. Regis Florence hotel. This is a luxury hotel situated along the Arno River to the southwest of the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. Fortunately, this still puts it within a fair walking distance of most of the major attractions of the city. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio and a 14-minute walk to the Duomo.
There is a restaurant available for those who wish to have their meals at the Winter Garden. There are also buffet breakfasts, with continental and American styles available for both. There are multimedia systems in the rooms that can play sports, films or other entertainment systems. You’ve got free WiFi available and even a digital jukebox available.
The Premium Guest Room (with 1 king bed) costs $574 USD. However, if you want to live in luxury, the max cost can go up to $6,326 USD a night for the Royal Suite with an Arno River view.

All of the rooms at this hotel come with minibars and TVs that have Sky channels. There is a free spa that has hot tubs, a Turkish bath, saunas and sensory showers. If you want, massages and other treatments are available at extra charges. Every day, there is a buffet for breakfast.
The main lobby is quite pretty to look at, as it has a library and fireplace among many original frescoes. The Frame Hotel
Rounding out the top three of our list of the best accommodations in central Florence, we have the Frame Hotel. This hotel is located directly in between the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella and the Piazza del Duomo. This puts you in a great position to visit each, with only a 3 minute walk separating you from either. It only takes about 10 minutes to get to the Uffizi and 9 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio.
One of the most interesting elements about the Frame Hotel is that it was built in the location where the Mona Lisa was recovered in 1913. Each room in this historic building includes air conditioning, a minibar and flat-screen TV.
Private bathrooms with toiletries are also included, along with the free WiFi that is available all over the property. There’s a variety of breakfasts available, with continental, American, Italian, gluten-free and vegetarian all there.
The prices are also pretty decent, with a twin/double room only being $178 USD a night, while even the Suite costs from $280 to $380 USD a night depending on whether you are two or three people and if you have added the breakfast to your booking.

Arte’ Boutique Hotel
To the north of the Duomo, we have the Arte’ Boutique Hotel. This hotel is located closer to the Basilica di San Lorenzo than any other hotel we’ve seen so far. This still puts it quite close to the center of the city, regardless of it being further away from the Arno River. It’s only a 12-minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, an 11-minute walk to the Uffizi, and a 4-minute walk to Florence’s Duomo of Santa Maria del Fiore.
Guest rooms in the hotel have flatscreen TVs with satellite channels and free Netflix. There are private bathrooms with free toiletries and a bidet in each. Rooms also have a tea or coffee making area, as well as a desk if you need to use that.
The lowest-priced room of the Arte’ Boutique Hotel is a Deluxe King Room, which costs about $370 USD a night. However, you can go all the way up to $585 if you prefer a Junior Suite with a Terrace. Sometimes, however, you can find enticing promotions and rooms for around $180 USD per night.
A centrally located hotel with decent prices and accommodations such as Netflix? Certainly a quality deal.

B&B Kingsman
Our first bed and breakfast and the midpoint of our list of the best hotels in Florence’s city center, we have the B&B Kingsman. This hotel is located right next to the Santa Maria Novella Train station and by extension, the Basilica di Santa Maria Novella, making it a perfect pied-à-terre if you are spending only one day in Florence or if you need to catch a train early morning. This makes it about 16 minutes away from the Uffizi, 13 minutes away from the Duomo and 15 minutes away from the Ponte Vecchio.
The breakfast that comes from the second “B” is served in either a continental or Italian way. User reviews for this part of the experience are quite encouraging, as they highly praise the breakfasts. Each room comes with toiletries and bidets, as well as TVs and free WiFi. There is daily housekeeping if you choose to let them, heating and air conditioning.
The room costs of the hotel might not be great in comparison to some of the other budget hotels in Florence, but they certainly are not bad in the grand scheme of things. The standard double room (or “King Room) costs between $170 and $200 USD per night.
